Sometimes these things happen and you have you just watch and learn. You try to stop this madness, but it's impossible. Doors slam and people leave, people enter.
We say things we did not mean to, to the people we love.

08.17.04 - Stuff
I've been reading a lot lately. Especially The Babysitters Club books. (Don't laugh.) I remember in elementary school I loved all the stories, because they were so interesting and the babysitters sounded so "grown up" to me. now that i have all this free time I've started checking out about 20 of them at once at the library. which is kind of embarassing, but ... man the books are FUN!
Urine Testing
Speaking of embarassing, i had NO IDEA that urine testing is such an ... embarassing task. I finally did get an interview; although, when she asked me what my "future plans" were, I didn't say "Palomar College" like I'd intended, but said I'm going away to school, emphasizing that it's in late September which is a month away. The lady was very nice, and I could tell she was not the type of person who liked to reject people or whatnot, so I think she decided to make me take the drug test and then she would decide whether or not I would get hired (although I highly doubt; I mean .. who is crazy enough to hire a person for a month?). But anyway, I still took the urine test ... ughh it really stripped me of my dignity. I don't know why, but it was just so embarassing! Especially when I couldn't, you know, go the first time and came back out and told the nurse, "I can't do this." So I had to drink a lot of water and wait and then tried again, and it worked. And then .. watching the nurse pour my pee into this sealed bottle, and having it out there for everyone to see, to see that it was MY pee ... ugh.
Road Trip
This past week I went to Catalina w/ 4 of my friends. Last road trip ever *tear*. Highlights included riding a tandem (sp?) bicycle with Nicole, those bicycles with two people pedaling ... i never imagined it could be that hard! it really was, and when we first started riding around the block to get the hang of it, we looked like total fools, especially when I was on the front and could not steer to save my life. and then we slipped into this dirt path lined with rocks, tripped on the rocks; we both slipped and fell, me scabbing the front of my calf and the bicycle falling on my head. But I had a helmet on so yay. We also stayed up till 12 playing card games for 5 hours or so. Fun stuff
People are leaving
Mich, Nicole, Erika and Laura this week, Kelly next week.
Palm Springs
Palm Springs was this past weekend, where my brother watched TV for 10 hours straight, my grandma, my mom, and I dipped into the spa. We also pigged out there (mostly grandma and me). And I've been pigging out ever since.
Gymnastics men are hot as tamales
Oh, and also ... We have TV!!! After 2 years of no TV, we finally have TV back. That means staying up till 12 watching the Olympics ... my family is obsessed with gymnastics and swimming ... me, I'm only interested in men's gymnastics ... you can only imagine why ...
Orientation

I took a test and here is my result:

I did it in 56 seconds.
I deserved a D!!
Take the How Dexterous Are You? Quiz!!
Another time I tried it, I got a B. Grr, no A's for me.
In other news, people are beginning to leave for colleges. I can't believe that within this month we will all be dispersing into different states all across the U.S.
I just wish that my school was cool enough to start early (I would never have imagined myself ever saying this!) because after everyone leaves, I'll be so lonely and sad. I mean .. my orientation starts after people's school session has started!
Oh man. I want summer to go faster, but I also want it to slow down.
